Bloomingrove Veterinary Hospital: Cutting-edge Care

Commercial Medical Design

A growing veterinary practice needed a new space to better house their modern medical care. From wellness exams and acupuncture to surgery and complex procedures, their range of services presented unique programming opportunities. Working together with the client, Balzer and Tuck renovated an existing, outdated physician’s medical office into a state-of-the-art full-service veterinary hospital.

  • A 9,000 square-foot 1950s medical office building was renovated to house new offices, exam rooms, and an operating suite for veterinary practice.
  • A tired mid-eighties exterior was transformed into a ‘gentleman-farmer’ inspired facade, including a welcoming timber frame entry with a ledge stone base.
  • The reception area was designed to separate ‘well’ and ‘sick’ patients and feature a cupola overhead, bringing natural light into the space.
  • Through the thoughtful layout and exposed structure, a natural flow was created to elicit feelings of order, care, and attention to detail – core values of the growing veterinary practice.
