Seven Gables Farm: A modern farmhouse

Modern Farmhouse Architecture

Seven Gables is the culmination of a longstanding professional relationship between Balzer and Tuck and a local custom builder who was interested in working in a design-build capacity for his new personal residence.

The homeowner’s desired aesthetic was a simplified farmhouse. In response, Seven Gables’ front elevation is anchored by a heavy timber sitting porch with views overlooking a paddock. The gabled roof forms anchor the building to the field, offering dimension to the otherwise flat landscape.

“From concept through construction drawings, the Balzer and Tuck team was on point with our needs for a functional and inspiring design within our building budget. Teaming with them was the right investment to achieve our perfect home.”  – Jim and Lisa Sasko, Owners

An open floor plan between the kitchen, dining, and living areas is thoughtfully divided by sliding barn doors, providing both visual and acoustic separation. The rear screened porch and grilling area located off of the kitchen is a focal point for outdoor entertaining and relaxing. Custom cabinetry and millwork throughout are a testament to the talents of the builder/homeowner.

“Our experience working with the Balzer and Tuck team was as unique and gratifying as the design of our home and barn. The creative site planning and bespoke architecture provided the perfect setting for our family and four legged friends.” – Jim and Lisa Sasko, Owners
